Pierre Bosc-Bierne discovered the candy stick in the early 90s. He fell in love with this shiny object, which replaces the spoon in hot drinks, and came up with the idea of adapting it to espresso. The little sugar cane gave the brand its name. CANASUC took shape and quickly became the creator, manufacturer and distributor of a range of innovative sugars: candy canes, decorated sugars and molded sugars, exclusive to CANASUC.
Tout commence avec un dessin, une fleur, un animal, un symbole. Puis vient la mise en œuvre. Plusieurs prototypes – des dizaines parfois – sont nécessaires pour obtenir la forme parfaite ; non pas celle qui rendra fidèlement le motif du dessin, mais celle qui créera visuellement l’impression que fait le dessin. Ensuite, le travail d’ouvrage entre en scène.
Ce savoir-faire, fruit de plus de 30 ans d’expérience de la maison Canasuc, est un secret bien gardé, une alchimie qui aboutit à de véritables œuvres d’art. Un processus entièrement made in France, au cours duquel le sucre, blanc, ambre ou ébène, est façonné à la main. L’œil expérimenté accompagne le geste pour savoir avec quelle force presser, quand s’arrêter ; puis le séchage intervient, lente opération qui s’achèvera par le démoulage. Instant de découverte où précision et constance du geste rivalisent.
